Knee InjuryMr. Keith S. Eyres MD. FRCS(Orth)

Welcome to my website. I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon practicing at The Exeter Nuffield Health Hospital and the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. My main interests involve joint replacement surgery of the knee both for primary (or first time) replacements and more complicated revision surgeries. I also provide a service for arthroscopic knee surgery and hip joint replacement surgery.

I have been a consultant in Exeter for more than 20 years and work in the South West Knee Clinic (private service) as well as the Exeter Knee Reconstruction Unit (NHS service). I lecture regularly on knee courses to demonstrate modern techniques and improvements in all aspects of knee surgery.

I also manage the care of patients with fractures that have not healed or healed in a bad position.

With my general experience I can also provide care for hip primary and revision surgery, complex foot and ankle problems and elbow and wrist injuries.

My research interests lie mainly in the knee field but many interesting innovative aspects of surgery has been a source of publication.

Present research interests include new techniques for improving patient care for knee surgery and the role of customized bespoke implants. At the moment I am developing methods to reduce ischaemic heal pressure sores and describe the techniques used for knee revision surgery in my unit.
